Halloween is one of the most exciting nights of the year for families across the Mid-Ohio Valley. Kids in Marietta, Devola, Newport, Williamstown, and Parkersburg look forward to dressing up, hitting the streets, and filling their bags with candy. But Halloween also means more foot traffic, darker roads, and a lot of distracted drivers. That is why it is a great time to think about the safety features packed into today's Chevrolet vehicles. At Pioneer Chevrolet in Marietta, Ohio, we want every family in the area to have a fun and safe Halloween, whether you are driving the little ones around the neighborhood or heading out to enjoy local festivities. Here is a quick look at what this blog covers: Chevrolet safety features that help protect your family on Halloween night Local trick-or-treat times for communities across the Mid-Ohio Valley How Pioneer Chevrolet makes it easy to get into a safe, reliable vehicle before the holiday season kicks into full gear Chevrolet Safety Features That Matter on Halloween Night Halloween night brings out the best in our communities, but it also brings some real challenges for drivers. Visibility is lower, kids are excited and sometimes unpredictable, and neighborhoods get busy fast. The good news is that Chevrolet builds its vehicles with advanced safety technology designed to help you handle exactly these kinds of situations. Chevy's available safety features work together to give you more awareness and more reaction time. Here are some of the key safety technologies you will find on popular models like the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Traverse, Equinox, Trax, Colorado, and Tahoe: Automatic Emergency Braking: This system can detect when a collision is likely and apply the brakes automatically if you do not react in time. On a busy Halloween street, that extra split second can make all the difference. Pedestrian Detection: Chevy's available pedestrian detection alerts you when someone steps into your path, even in low-light conditions. This is especially helpful when kids in dark costumes dart between parked cars. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning: Helps you stay in your lane when you may be distracted by activity on the sidewalk. Rear Park Assist and Rear Camera: Backing out of a driveway or parking spot is much safer when you can see everything behind you on the available rear camera display. Front Pedestrian Braking: Available on several Chevy models, this feature can automatically apply the brakes if a pedestrian is detected in front of the vehicle. Teen Driver Technology: Have a new driver in the family? This available feature lets you set speed alerts and other limits to encourage safe habits. High-Beam Assist: Automatically switches between high and low beams to ensure optimal visibility without blinding other drivers or pedestrians. Whether you are cruising slowly through a neighborhood in Devola or driving home from a Halloween event in Parkersburg, these features give you and your family an extra layer of protection. 2026 Trick-or-Treat Times in the Mid-Ohio Valley Trick-or-treating in the Mid-Ohio Valley is happening across multiple communities this year, and most areas are celebrating on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31.
